100 коротких сказок на ночь

This book has 100 short tales of adventure, friendship and kindness. Each takes about ten minutes to read. Read them to young children at bedtime. Older children can read them on their own.

The book has Russian folk tales and magic tales by Russian writers. It retells tales by Andersen, Perrault and the Brothers Grimm for young children. Other writers include V. Dahl, L. Tolstoy, K. Ushinsky and N. Sladkov. G. Tsyferov, M. Gorky, V. Oseeva and S. Kozlov also have tales here.

The tales show children how Russia and the world tell stories. Their lessons deal with feelings and choices about right and wrong. They also help build a love of reading from a young age. Colour pictures help children follow what happens and see who takes part. The artists include O. Ionaitis, I. Yakimova, I. Zuev and V. Korkin.
