Рассказы. Юморески (1886 -1887) Т. 5

This book has short stories and comic sketches. Anton Pavlovich Chekhov wrote them. They mock greed, vanity, folly, and the abuse of power. He takes aim at officials and merchants. He also mocks the intelligentsia, or the educated class. Women in both town and city society are targets too.

The book suits readers of short fiction and social satire. Its humour can hold sadness or turn harsh. This is volume five, with works from 1886–1887. Ripol Classic brings out this paperback edition.
