Filip works in television, and Sonia writes books. Their love unfolds through letters while he travels across Europe. He returns to places he loves. She stays home to work on a new novel. His letters start with lines from pop, rock, or light music. Her replies begin with quotes from books.

Radu Paraschivescu’s novel moves from this warm exchange into pain. An unforeseen event changes the course of their lives. Their joy gives way to loneliness, painful memories, and broken hopes. The story raises questions about illness and suffering that cannot be rushed. Its letters bring music and books into a tale of love and loss.
