Дети Арбата (комплект из 3 книг)

This set has all three books of Дети Арбата. Anatoly Rybakov wrote these novels about life under Stalin’s rule. They follow young people as that era shapes their lives. It changes their hopes, homes, and sense of self. These books suit readers who like historical fiction about Soviet life.

The first book moves through Moscow in the 1930s. We meet young people who live in shared flats. The cast also includes people in power and heads of research institutes.

The second book, Страх, is set after Kirov’s murder. It follows people caught in the mass terror of the mid-1930s. They feel fear and doubt about what the next day holds.

The last book, Прах и пепел, returns to those same young people. They still seek love and fight for happiness, despite all they have faced. In all three books, Rybakov links private lives to the force of state power. This paperback set brings the three novels together.
