This dictionary covers about 26,000 words. It goes from English to Romanian and from Romanian to English. It aims first at school pupils, but serves general readers too. Entries mark words used in books, daily speech, regions and slang. They show what words mean and how to use them. They use words with like meanings, phrases and proverbs. Each entry shows how to say the word in Romanian script.

Study aids give verb tables and lists of irregular verbs. A short phrasebook goes from Romanian to English. It deals with basic needs in daily life. It shows how to greet and meet people. It gives polite forms and phrases in common use. It covers facts about yourself, time and ways to travel. It also covers trips, town visits and social meetings. Formal and business meetings are part of it too.

Emilia Plăcintar, Mircea Bertea and Ştefan Oltean compiled the work. This second edition makes changes and adds more to it.
