Джерри-островитянин. Майкл брат Джерри. Сын Солнца

Jack London tells of two Irish terriers in this book. The dogs are brothers, but their lives differ a great deal. Jerry reaches the shores of far-off Oceania. Michael ends up in circuses that tour the United States. The book also includes Сын Солнца. These tales of animal adventure suit readers who like stories about dogs’ lives.

The two tales about the brothers came out in 1917. They came near the end of London’s major fiction. Only Сердца трех came later. London had made an animal the lead in Белый Клык in 1906. About ten years later, he did so again with Jerry and Michael.

London drew much of his fiction from his own short life. As a young man, he stole oysters in San Francisco Bay. He later helped catch men in that same trade. He sailed off Japan on a schooner that hunted seals. He also went to Alaska during the gold rush. In these later tales, he left his old subjects for animal lives. Most works in this book have art by Anton Otto Fischer.
