Герой иного времени

This novel takes place in the Caucasus, in the era of A Hero of Our Time and The Prisoner of the Caucasus. Its setting draws on both the region and its place in literature. The story explores change and the things that stay the same. Good deeds call for good in return, while bloodshed calls for more bloodshed. Love and hate have equal force in this world.
