Iepurele și broasca-țestoasă

A proud hare expects to beat a tortoise in a race. The tortoise moves slowly but keeps going with more resolve. The race ends with a surprise for the hare. This version of a fable by Esop pairs the tale with early reading tasks.

The book suits children aged five to seven who are learning to read. This includes those in their last preschool year or starting school. It belongs to the Învăț să citesc! Nivelul 0 series.

Before the story, children read a list of 30 words in capital letters. They then match each word with a picture sticker from the sheet. This task builds links between words and images to help with reading.

Each part of the story appears in two forms. One uses capital letters and picture cues for those just starting. The other uses both upper- and lower-case print for more fluent reading practice. The book supports reading and writing skills through word-based play.
