Илиада

Homer’s Iliad tells of the ten-year siege of Troy. It presents a war fought in the name of love. Tales of gods and heroes blend myth with historical events. The poem explores human nature through the world of ancient Greece.

This ancient epic stands near the start of Europe’s literary tradition. This edition uses N. I. Gnedich’s translation. It seeks to retain the plain force and calm dignity of Homer’s language.
