Istoria românilor de la origini până in prezent - Vol.1

Ovidiu Pecican tells the story of Romania’s past. He looks at politics, culture, and shifts in social life. He covers rulers, wars, and gains made through talks between states. He also looks at folk customs, women, and changing beliefs. He weighs errors and setbacks, as well as hopes and gains.

This first book is part of a broad view of history. It goes beyond events to show how social life changed. Romanians lived in several states, not under one centre of power. Pecican adds parts of the story that past accounts left out.

Pecican is a historian with no ties to a political group. He is part of the 1980s generation linked to the Romanian Revolution. Few from that group write broad views of history. He is one of them.
