Jocul îngerilor

A grave injury ends Tyler Ames’s baseball career. He has already lost Samantha Dawson, his high school love. His quest for fame has driven his family away, too. Now his team drops him, leaving him with medical bills. He cannot pay for surgery or rent. He has no home.

Karen Kingsbury blends Christian fiction with romance and sports drama. Her novel suits readers drawn to faith and forgiveness. It also deals with fresh starts. Two angels, Ember and Beck, guide Tyler toward help. Ember urges his parents to pray for him, too. They have not spoken to their son in four years.

Beck helps Tyler find cleaning work at Merrill Place. At this care home, he meets Virginia Hutcheson. She is 91 and has Alzheimer’s disease. She thinks Tyler is Ben, her dead son. Their bond brings her peace. It gives Tyler a mother’s care. He starts to rethink the choices that shaped his life.

Samantha learns of his injury through a news report. She now works in marketing in Santa Monica. She dates a lawyer. Her parents died when she was five. Her grandparents then raised her. News of Tyler brings back thoughts of their time together. Tyler reaches out, with hopes for love and baseball. Prayer and the angels’ work offer paths to heal. They also offer ways to reunite.
