Магеллан: Великие открытия позднего Средневековья

Felipe Fernández-Armesto writes about Ferdinand Magellan. He looks at the voyage of 1519–1522. It was the first voyage to circle the world. Magellan died before the trip came to an end. The fleet lost much, too. Many of the crew died or stayed in foreign lands.

This history book questions the myths behind Magellan’s fame. It weighs his brave deeds and gains against his faults and failures. The author is a British professor of history. He also looks at what the voyage meant for science. This Russian edition is a paperback in the «Персона» series.
