O vară în New York

Elle Leon, a 27-year-old screenwriter, has a major film to write. The film will shoot in New York, but she cannot write. With her deadline near, she returns to seek fresh ideas. She had once sworn never to visit the city again.

Her new flat overlooks the towers, with a café nearby. Next door lives Parker Warren, who runs a tech firm. Two years ago, they nearly spent the night together. Now their clashes spur Elle to write through her first night. The man who annoys her may help her finish her script.

Elle keeps out of the public eye; Parker appears on magazine covers. He needs a pretend romance to save his firm. She needs to write a love story shaped by New York. Their pact lasts one summer, but real feelings upset its terms. Their shared past, pride and grudges give way to desire. The city helps them rethink their need for control.

This adult romantic comedy blends sharp exchanges, drama and explicit love scenes. It follows two foes as they fall in love. Alex Aster, known for the bestselling fantasy series Lightlark, makes her adult fiction debut here. This translation's original title is Summer in the City.
