Andrey Zhvalevsky and Evgenia Pasternak tell a story for young readers. It follows high school students who train in ballroom dance. Each chapter turns to a new person at their dance studio. They love those who do not love them back. They have trouble with their parents. They doubt their place in life.

The story looks at life beyond school. Their coach is strict and gives his all. When his future is at risk, their own woes matter less. They can fix some mistakes, but others stay with them. The end leaves key questions open. Yet what the young people face as a group changes them.
