Panorama comunismului în Moldova Sovietică

This book looks at communist rule in Soviet Moldova. It traces the region’s past and its politics. It looks at culture and daily life, too. It covers Stalin’s forced moves of people from their homes. It also covers the famine after World War II. Other topics include faith, schools, and ethnic groups. It looks at law and state symbols as well.

This work of history draws on 34 experts from Moldova. It is for scholars and general readers. These include young people on both sides of the Prut. Liliana Corobca looks at how communist rule differed in Moldova and Romania. She asks how Soviet policies drove Romania and Bessarabia apart. Those policies were hostile to Romanian identity. Her question spans the years from 1945 to 1991.
