Description
Arturo Pérez-Reverte tells the story of Ruy Díaz, known as El Cid. His hero is a bold soldier who kills without guilt. This novel draws on the past. It gives readers a way into the legend and Spain’s past. This includes young readers who do not yet know the tale.
Pérez-Reverte uses both history and myth, but leaves room to invent. Spanish lore tells El Cid’s tale in many ways. The author gives his own view of the man. Mioara Adelina Angheluță translated this edition from Spanish. She also added notes.
