Description
This book has three tales by Pavel Bazhov. One is “Silver Hoof.” The others are “The Mistress of the Copper Mountain” and “The Malachite Casket.” Schools teach these works. The book is part of a reading series for children.
Bazhov was born in the Urals. He grew up among mountains and malachite mines. He also grew up with village tales of magic. His tales draw on that world. Many names of people and places in them match real ones.
