Смерть Цезаря. Хроника самого громкого убийства в древней истории

Barry Strauss studies the plot to kill Julius Caesar. He looks at its aims for Rome and what came next. The plotters sought to bring democracy to Rome. Caesar hoped to pass power to his own family. Above all, he hoped to pass it to Octavian. Octavian would later rule as the emperor Augustus. The plot did not turn out as its planners hoped.

This history book is also for readers drawn to business and how to lead. Strauss asks what past leaders can teach those who lead today. He looks for answers in Caesar’s life and the plot. He also disputes how Shakespeare tells the story of these events.
