Snuff

Cassie Wright is a famous porn star. She wants to end her career with one last big event. She plans to set a world record on camera. Six hundred men will have sex with her, one after another.

Three of these men tell the story. Number 72 is a young man who thinks he is her son. Many other young men make the same claim. Number 137 wants to ask her to marry him. He also hopes she will join him on a reality show. Number 600 is an aging porn star. He gave Cassie her start in the trade.

All three wait their turn in a crowded room. They swap stories with the other men there.

This is a novel by Chuck Palahniuk. It is adult fiction that deals with taboo subjects. Critics say it lays bare the excess, fears and neuroses of our time. They also note that the author does deep research before he writes. This gives his novels the feel of a raw, direct report.

This edition is a Romanian translation from the English by Mihai Chirilov.
