Description

Jay Ingram looks at the science of daily life. He explores strange facts and myths, too. Why do we shut our eyes when we sneeze? How deep below ground can life survive? Which checkout line will be the shortest? He uses science to look for answers.

This is the fourth book in a series. It shares science through questions and answers for all ages. Some puzzles come from the past. Others look to the future. Why do zebras have stripes? What draws butterflies to light? How do squirrels find the nuts they bury? How many universes might there be? Could humans live for 200 years?

Ingram also looks at alien societies and photographic memory. He explores nanobots, Kopi Luwak, and toilet paper, too. The book mixes facts with science fiction and comic art.

Ingram is a Canadian writer and broadcaster. He has written more than 15 books. He hosted Daily Planet for 16 years on Discovery Channel Canada. Before that, he hosted Quirks & Quarks, CBC Radio’s science show. He also wrote the first three books in this series. They came out between 2017 and 2020. Marilena Dumitrescu translated this book.
