Strânia ordine a lucrurilor

Antonio Damasio asks how life led to minds, feelings and culture. He looks at homeostasis: how the body stays alive and well. He traces our bodies and minds back to simple living cells. He does the same for our social lives. He argues that the drive to stay alive links us all. It ties human culture to those early forms of life.

This science book links life's roots to how we think. It asks how minds form stories and give things meaning. It asks how we recall the past and picture the future. Damasio looks at feelings and consciousness, our sense of being aware. He asks how they link our minds to our bodies. He also asks how they link us to the outside world.

Damasio draws on his work in neuroscience, the study of the brain and nerves. Carmen Strungaru translated this edition. It is part of the Humanitas science series.
