The Little Prince

A pilot crashes his plane in the Sahara Desert. He works hard to fix it, alone and far from help. One day a little prince appears out of nowhere. The boy asks him to draw a sheep. The pilot finds the request strange, but he does it anyway. So begins a long talk between the two. The prince leads the pilot's mind in odd and childlike new ways.

The book is a fable about love and loneliness. Antoine de Saint-Exupery first published it in 1943. A year later, his own plane vanished over the Mediterranean on a scouting flight.

This edition is a clothbound reissue. Coralie Bickford-Smith designed it.
