The Truth about the 1903 pogrom

The monograph The Truth about the 1903 Pogrom – a new interpretation of the 1903 pogrom’s history – is an innovative scientific development of the indicated topic, which makes extensive use of the outstanding achievements of Jewish studies in the Republic of Moldova and of the previously overlooked facts. This book – one of the three monographs about the 1903 pogrom that currently exist in the world, and the only one written by a researcher from Moldova – is an English translation of Jozefina Cușnir’s monograph К 110-летию кишиневского погрома: Памятные даты (On the 110th Anniversary of the Kishinev Pogrom: Memorable Dates), published in Russian in Chisinau (2013) with the financial support of the Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund. Monografia „The Truth about the 1903 Pogrom” („Adevărul despre pogromul din 1903”) reprezintă o relectură a istoriei pogromului din 1903, o cercetare științifică inovatoare a subiectului, care utilizează pe larg realizările remarcabile ale studiilor evreiești din Moldova, precum și fapte neluate în considerare anterior. Această carte – una dintre cele doar trei monografii existente în lume despre pogromul din 1903 și singura scrisă de un cercetător din Moldova – reprezintă traducerea în engleză a monografiei Jozefinei Cușnir „К 110-летию кишиневского погрома: Памятные даты” („La a 110-a aniversare a pogromului din Chișinău: Date memorabile”), publicată în rusă la Chișinău (2013) cu sprijinul financiar din partea Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund.
