Moașa din Berlin

Ester Pasternak survives Auschwitz, but she leaves without her daughter. She gave birth to Pippa in the camp in 1943. The baby's blond hair offers a chance of survival. Yet it also leads to their forced parting. Pippa goes to a German family, far from her mother.

In Berlin in 1945, Ester sets out to find her. The war has ended, but chaos still grips Europe. Jewish families have been torn apart, and survivors seek missing loved ones. Ester searches hospitals and orphanages, studying the children she finds. Blond hair and blue eyes stir her hopes each time. Her daughter also has a tattoo that matches her own. That mark may help Ester know her child again.

Anna Stuart's historical novel follows a mother's search after the Holocaust. It explores courage, loss, and the resolve to bring a family together.
