Clasici contemporani. Înotând spre casă

Joe arrives with his family at a holiday villa on the French Riviera. He spots what looks like a dead body in the pool. The woman is alive, and her name is Kitty Finch. She claims to be a botanist and wears green nail polish. She climbs naked from the water and disrupts the family’s stay. Her purpose remains unclear, yet Joe’s wife lets her stay.

Deborah Levy’s novel explores love and the truths people hide from themselves. Wit gives way to grief as small clues build tension. The story moves toward a bleak end. It was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize.
