Secularizarea şi camuflările sacrului

Nicu Gavriluță asks how the sacred lasts as faith loses sway. He argues that faith has found new life throughout history. This has gone hand in hand with shifts from religion. Both trends keep a link to the mystery of the sacred.

This study draws on research in sociology and religion. It builds on Mircea Eliade’s view of the sacred. In his view, life apart from faith can hide it. Gavriluță asks what the sacred means now and how to trace it. He looks at the layout of large cities. He also looks at how political parties use systems of ideas. He explores the visions and promises of transhumanism, which seeks to move beyond human limits.
