Улисс. Том 2

This novel links two men's lives in Dublin. Stephen Dedalus is a young writer. Leopold Bloom works in ads. The story has links to Homer's Odyssey. Some are clear; others are harder to see. They help readers trace what the story's symbols mean.

This second volume is a work of twentieth-century modernism. It tests new ways to write fiction. Its Irish author, Джеймс Джойс, uses classic forms but breaks their rules. Shifts in style and method test the reader. The book blends irony with links to history and myth. This edition has a large set of notes by Sergei Khoruzhy. They help readers study the text in depth.
